It’s Book Blogger Appreciation Week!

September 10-14 is Book Blogger Appreciation Week! Book bloggers mean a great deal to us here at Zest. They help us spread the word about our new releases, give us great feedback on the books we publish, and of course provide us with great recommendations for what we should be reading next!

Book bloggers will always have a special place in my heart, because they’re a huge part of why I got into publishing. At my first editorial internship I spent countless hours reading through all of the online publishing coverage I could find, and fell in love with the passionate, dynamic world of book bloggers in particular. It was inspiring to see all of these smart and ambitious writers interacting with one another and working to promote the overall conversation surrounding great books, great writers, and great ideas.

I’ve been an avid reader of book blogs ever since, even trying (unsuccessfully) to get one of my own off the ground. I’m so glad that my job now REQUIRES me to interact with bloggers on a daily basis! Book bloggers are essential to the work we do at Zest, and we’re so thankful that they’re out there, keeping the publishing world honest, day after day, and year after year.

So in honor of Book Blogger Appreciation Week, we’ve put together a brief list of some of our favorite sites. If you’re new to the book blog scene, hopefully this can serve as a kind of starter kit; and if you’re already all over these there’s still the chance that you’ll find something new. So take a look (and let us know in the comments what we’ve missed!)

Jean Little Library
Jennifer always has thoughtful book reviews, plus bonus story time activities for younger readers.

Young Adult Books Central
This is a great hub for reviews, giveaways, author interviews, and more.

Cynsations
Cynthia Leitich Smith provides a wealth of information for readers, writers, and librarians. Plus she’s awesome!

Cari’s Book Blog
Cari has a great blog design, fun reviews, and she supports other book bloggers (especially those Texans!).

Chick Loves Lit
In addition to book reviews, Shanyn does these awesome “Fun Five” interviews with authors. Great idea!

Books YA Love
Katy really takes her time with reviews and even when she has no time for reviewing, she’s still recommending books!

G Reads Books
Check out Ginger’s reading timeline to see what books she’s read and when. Can you keep up?

Forever Young Adult
Forever YA offers SO much more than just book reviews—this is your place for all things YA—including movies, TV shows, memes, and more. It’s well worth a daily visit.

YALSA
Library programming ideas, thoughtful commentary on the book industry, and tweets of the week: They have it all! Also check out The Hub, YALSA’s book blog.

Thanks again to all book bloggers for validating our obsession with books, and for making reading even more fun and interactive!

Check out our upcoming Dear Teen Me blog tour (which includes many of the book bloggers listed here). And if you’re already a book blogger and would like to review our books, please contact ann@zestbooks.net. We’d love to hear from you!

And again, let us know what your favorite book blogs are in the comments section!

A week for book bloggers? Sweet! Count YALSA in. Just to clarify, YALSA’s book blog is called The Hub and it can be found at http://www.yalsa.ala.org/thehub
